About this event

Health • Personal health

Join us for a Kate Bush themed Move in Nature. Using silent disco headsets we will walk/move/ dance mindfully to a specially curated playlist of Kate Bush originals, covers and inspired by songs. It's a unique opportunity to reconnect with yourself, nature, the seasons, and the environment around us.

We will certainly be 'going up a hill'....running if you like, and perhaps we'll do some cloudbusting whilst we're there.

We meet at the Parc Penallta main car park off Penallta Road, Ystrad Mynach, where you will be given your headset. The walk is a slow paced easy walk on grass or gravel with some slight inclines and occasionally some steps going up (but never down). We will also be in the woods at some point on uneven ground. You are welcome to walk, move, listen, dance as you desire. I will be guiding you throughout with invitations that will help you connect with your senses.

The sessions are suitable for adults and accompanied children 12 and over. We do not allow dogs at the event.

Contact me at fiona.winter@gmail.com if you have any questions about your suitability for the walk.

Frequently asked questions

How fit do I need to be?

As long as you can walk for an hour on flat ground or a slight incline you should be fine. Occasionally we take a route that incorporates some steps going up....but we never go down the steps.

What do I need to bring with me?

If you have your own torch and prefer to use it please do so. Some people like to bring water. wear clothing and footwear that are suitable for the weather and terrain.

Where do we meet?

The main car park at Parc Penallta.....look out for the Black car with the Energy Moves logo, and people handing out headsets and torches.

Is there car parking?

Yes, it is currently a free car park with lots of spaces.

What age is this suitable for?

Adults and accompanied children over 12.

Is the route accessible

No as we will be in woods with uneven ground at the end of the session. The main route is over grass or gravel and we will go up steps (but never down steps), so is not suitable for wheelchairs.
