About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours
  • Ages 16+

Description:

How does the way you move reflect how you feel? And what happens when you move differently?

Join performer and facilitator Alistair Bourne for Movement and the Mind, a two-hour workshop using the Laban technique to explore how physical movement connects with our emotional and mental states. Created for LGBTQIA+ young adults aged 16+, this session offers a playful and embodied way to understand yourself and others through motion.

You’ll explore:

  • The foundations of Laban movement analysis
  • How different movement qualities can reflect or shift emotions
  • Movement exercises to help tune into how you're feeling
  • Space to play, reflect, and move without judgement

No acting or dance experience needed - this is about curiosity, not choreography. Come in comfy clothes, ready to stretch, breathe, and explore.
