Movement Building in a day: one day workshop and training with Small Axe
Mon 3 April 2017, 08:30 – 18:00 BST
None of us want 2017 to be the year of the clicktivist.
If we want to win the big issues of our time we will have to be bold and organise big.
Small Axe is offering a one day Movement Building training to help professionals working in the campaigns and NGO sector to accumulate everything you need to know in order to build power and win big in 2017.
The training will be led by Dan Firth and Jana Mills.
Dan is a recognised political and community organiser. He was formerly a Lead Organiser with Citizens UK, where he won high profile campaigns on housing, good jobs, the living wage and other social justice issues. He built several Citizens’ alliances and is a nationally accredited organising trainer.
Jana is Campaigns Director at the Small Axe. He led Caroline Lucas’s communications strategy, helping to push the Greens to their best performance ever at a General Election. A skilled communicator and fundraiser, Jana understands how to cut through and raise thousands from a small donor army.
In 2016, Dan and Jana teamed up to build a new model of progressive organising based on their experiences in grassroots and national politics, launching We Can Win in November 2016. All proceeds from the training will go towards funding for We Can Win.
NEW - Esther Foreman
Esther Foreman will be joining Dan and Jana to deliver part of the training. Esther is the founder of The Social Change Agency. Esther has spent over 15 years working in the not for profit, social enterprise and business sectors. Esther is a 2011 Clore Fellow, Winston Churchill Fellow 2012 and a SSE Fellow 2013.
What you'll learn
The day is split into four core sessions, all of which are given equal time. On the day, you will learn:

Action: building powerful public actions that get results
By the end of the day, you will be ready to put these new skills into practice and even enroll onto our six-day training course later in the year.
Unfortunately we only have a limited number of spaces for this one day training, so be sure to book your place now.
