- Pre-washed calico, cotton or linen fabric
- A Sashiko or embroidery needle
- Sashiko or embroidery thread
- Small pair of sharp scissors
- A ruler (ideally a quilting ruler)
- A sheet of fine sandpaper
- A circle template (the lid of a vitamin pills bottle is ideal)
- An erasable fabric marker pen
- Masking tape
- Something to draw your large circle with (I use a side plate).
- Optional - If you have a cutting mat, that is very helpful for marking up although it is fine to draw up the patterns without one
