Event description

Description

Bastien was written by Mozart when he was 12 years old. A boyfriend and girlfriend try to make each other jealous. Bastienne asks a fake magician to put a spell on Bastien. He does this speaking in a made-up language-“ Diggi, daggi, schurry, murry”

In Bach’s Coffee Cantata an angry father moans at his daughter for being addicted to coffee, the latest fashionable drink. She can’t marry unless she stops drinking coffee. Finally she agrees to a husband if he lets her drink coffee.

The London Gala Orchestra performs with soloists Suzanne Smart, Timothy Coleman and Lukasz Biela conducted by Dante Valdez in his UK debut.

New production by Maarten van der Duin.
