Event description
Join us for our MPI Group express training day featuring high quality speakers who will cover topical medico-legal issues

About this Event

The programme is supremely topical and will start with Professor Paul Lee, Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon. His focus will be on Consent Plus, a digital platform he cofounded, which enables the healthcare team to improve patient experience, save consultant time and standardise information delivery processes.

Next we will be joined by Steve Kuncewicz, a specialist social media lawyer from international law firm BLM who will enlighten us on how doctors should handle social media and warn us of the pitfalls.

Finally we will hear from a trio of defence barristers from 2 Hare Court chambers, each of them experts in defending doctors facing an investigation by the General Medical Council. They will present live evidence from actors at a mock hearing of the Fitness to Practise Panel arising from allegations of sexual misconduct. You will need to decide whether you find the allegations proven or not and, if so, the appropriate sanction!

Once the formal part of the day has concluded, you are warmly invited to join us for a buffet lunch. We are very lucky to be hosted in W R Berkley’s new offices on Lime Street, London EC3 with fantastic views of the City.

Free for members of the MPI Group and Schemes supported by the MPI Group and £50 for non-members.
