  • Palpation method that provides information about chronic inflammation

Hour 2 – Somatic and visceral pain patterns

  • Spinal cord confusion and referred pain

Hour 3 – Homeostatic mechanisms run amok (part 1)

  • Innervation of muscles, joints, and viscera
  • How tissue innervation patterns control homeostasis

Hour 4 – Homeostatic mechanisms run amok (part 2)

  • How our biomechanical, psychological, and nutritional lifestyle determines tissue biochemistry and homeostasis
  • Introduction to related disease mechanisms – focus on neurogenic inflammation
  • Connection between neurogenic inflammation and “classic” inflammation
  • “Inflammation” as both a pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory reaction

Hour 5 – Intro to fatty acids and relationship to inflammation

  • Review of saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids
  • Pro-inflammatory n6 polyunsaturated fatty acids
  • Pro-inflammatory trans fatty acids

Hour 6 – How fatty acids reduce inflammation

  • Anti-inflammatory saturated fatty acids
  • Anti-inflammatory monounsaturated fatty acids
  • Anti-inflammatory n3 polyunsaturated fatty acids

Hour 7 – Eicosanoids, cytokines, chronic

  • Inflammation and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Herniated discs
  • Internal disc disruption
  • Facet syndrome
  • Arthritis
  • Osteoporosis

Hour 8 – Dietary factors that drive inflammation

  • Inflammatory potential of grains
  • Inflammatory potential of grain-fed – animals
  • Inflammatory potential of soy

Hour 9 – Diet factors that reduce inflammation

  • Anti-inflammatory nature of fruits and veg
  • Anti-inflammatory nature of grass-fed animals and wild game

Hour 10 – Nutritional supplements to reduce inflammation

  • Multi-vitamins
  • Magnesium

Hour 11 – Nutritional supplements to reduce inflammation

  • EPA/DHA 2. Coenzyme Q10

Hour 12 – Dietary factors that drive

  • Inflammation
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Garlic
  • Bioflavonoids



Dr. David Seaman is a professor of clinical sciences at National University of Health Sciences in Pinellas Park, FL, where he teaches nutrition and evaluation and management courses of the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems.

He graduated from New York College of Chiropractic and subsequently received an MS in biology/nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Neurology and a member of the postgraduate faculty for several chiropractic colleges.. He is also an instructor and previous vice-president for the Motion Palpation Institute.

Dr. Seaman has published articles in JMPT, Chiropractic Technique, Journal of Chiropractic Humanities, and the Journal of Sports Chiropractic and Rehabilitation. He has also written a text entitled Clinical Nutrition: For Pain, Inflammation, and Tissue Healing. He has also written several chapters on this topic.

Dr. Seaman has lectured all over the United States. Students and doctors who attend his neurology and nutrition seminars routinely state the he makes these complex areas easy to understand and apply. Doctors who follow his nutritional programs often report improved feelings of well being, weight loss, dramatic increases in energy and significant pain reduction.
