Join us for a special evening showcasing the creative outcomes of a unique, community-led public health initiative - Mpox: What’s Your Story?
This event marks the culmination of a powerful collaboration between Writing on the Wall, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Sahir, poet Louise Fazackerley, animator Daniel Turner, and community members.
Together, we explored the lived realities of Mpox and challenged stigma through creative storytelling and participatory workshops to co-create a public service announcement (PSA) to help stop the spread. The stories shared are authentic, impactful, and, most importantly, community-led.
What to expect:
- Premiere screening of two animated public service announcements (PSAs) inspired by real community stories
- Live readings and displays of poetry and creative writing co-created during our workshops
- Reflections from the people who shaped the project: participants, artists, and facilitators in conversation
- Audience Q&A, offering space for dialogue, questions, and shared reflection
- A welcoming space to connect, celebrate, and engage in meaningful conversations around community, creativity, and health
- Food and refreshments will be provided
