Mr. Poetivist ALBUM LAUNCH live at The Rose Hill

Come gather. Ghanaian poet and curator Mr. Poetivist is flying in from Accra to mark the release of his debut album kumbaya – the elegy of distant relatives. This isn’t just a launch — it’s a live ritual of remembrance, resistance, and reunion.

In an era where mental health has become a vital public discourse, kumbaya, inspired by the profound loss of Mr. Poetivist’s brother figure to suicide, steps forward as both art and advocacy, paying tribute to love, grief and family trauma, reflecting the vulnerability of time, and navigating the many forms of loss.

Conceived in Ghana and developed during a residency at The Rose Hill with producer Abraham Moughrabi, kumbaya is a sonic letter to the ones we've lost and the ones still finding their way home. It blends poetry, cinematic soundscapes and raw emotion into a 13-part elegy that hits deep. Saddle up for a transformative journey toward understanding, resilience, and shared humanity.

Expect live readings, storytelling, soundscape moments, guest collaborations, and a few surprises. This is a family gathering — come as you are.
