Location: MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit, Lecture Theatre
This session is being run as an extension of the MRC-CBU's 2025 Equality & Diversity Event (held from 11am-2.30pm in the same location).
Effective Working Relationships are part of the foundation of "doing good work, in a good place to work". This two-hour, interactive, in-person session will explore the attitudes and behaviours that underpin Effective Working Relationships. This session will also address the attitudes and behaviours relating to casual disrespect, the impact this can have on individuals and teams and equip you with strategies to tackle inappropriate behaviour and casual disrespect with confidence. Participants will also gain the tools, techniques, and practical guidance necessary to navigate difficult conversations, with professionalism, empathy, and best practice.
The course aims to:
- Foster stronger, more collaborative working relationships.
- Equip you with practical tools for addressing miscommunications, resolving conflicts, and overcoming a lack of collaboration.
This two-hour session will be interactive and engaging, incorporating:
- Facilitated discussions
- Real-world case studies
- Opportunities to share best practices
The session will be led by experienced external trainer, Sue Duraikan, and a member of the Clinical School’s HR team.
Please note that places are limited to 15 participants.
