About this event
From Rare Species Theatre Company, creators of cult hits Frome - The Fecund Coming , Saggers Plays Pop and Mojo Moves.
Mrs Christmas has escaped the shackles of the traditonal mob cap and flour dusted apron and had a 21st Century upgrade. The new and improved bad ass "Mrs C" is heading over to the town of Frome to delve into its musical past and celebrate the season with a sing along, dance along treat for all the family. A master of storytelling, be sure to listen out for her "hot gossip" surrounding some of the world's most famous pop legends.Expect a proper Christmassy soundtrack plus some epic sing along & disco favourites to get you into the perfect merry mood.
You'll head off from world famous venue the Cheese and Grain and take in some of the town's beautiful and famous landmarks on a 60 minute trail.
It's the perfect way to get into the festive spirit and forget all your cares!
Please dress up in festive outfits but wear comfortable shoes. We are walking around 1.5 miles through gently hilly streets on pavements and on roads. Please also feel free to take pictures during the walk but don't fall back from the group in doing so. Be mindful of traffic and humans. Wearing headphones and being immersed in the music can make you less aware of them. The roads and streets could be busy with impatient Christmas shoppers and any cars and potential hazards will be real.
There will be times that we stop to dance and you are welcome to bring a drink (water or something stronger) but please bear in mind we won't be stopping for a comfort break. Try not to bring too much to carry as it may hinder your ability to join in and please do join in! These tours are partly what you make them by participating whole heartedly in a joyful celebration.
The walk will last approximately 60 minutes and will leave on time. We can’t wait for latecomers, so please be sure to arrive on time to avoid missing the walk and forfeiting your ticket price. Guests waive all liability for damage, injury or loss on tours.
Our tour will finish in central Frome and may overrun by a few minutes depending on what and whom we encounter on our journey!
Headphones wil be provided at the start of the event and volume can be adjusted to each individual but we reccommend listening quite loud to enhance the experience. Please arrive in good time to be given your headset and adjust the volume to your taste.
Advised child age 5 and above. Children MUST be accompanied by a paying adult - any under 18s will not be permitted to join the walk if they are not with a responsible adult.
Plesae note we leave from outside the Cheese and Grain but are not affiliated with the venue so please do not contact tehm if you have any queries.
“Rare Species are skilled and sharp performers, adept at improvising comedy from any haphazard thing that happens on the way” - John Christopher Wood
“ Brilliantly entertaining immersive events” - Ralph Oswick
