About this event

MSK Injection Techniques Workshop - Needle Simulator

Date: Thursday 25th September 2025

Location: Physio On The Green

Time: 6 - 8.30pm

Elevate your clinical skills with this focused, hands-on CPD evening designed for experienced clinicians confident in musculoskeletal ultrasound and guided injection techniques. This exclusive session offers practical training using cutting-edge simulation technology, including:

  • High-fidelity MSK phantoms such as the Limbs & Things Knee Aspiration & Injection Trainer – built with ultrasound-reflective structures and realistic anatomical landmarks for precise injection practice. Enabling clinicians to practice injecting and aspirating on an anatomically correct phantom knee.

  • The NeedleTrainer® by More Than Simulators – an augmented reality system that overlays a virtual needle onto live ultrasound images, allowing repeatable, safe skill development without puncturing the skin

Delivered in collaboration with IBSA and Physiquipe, this workshop blends expert teaching, advanced simulation tools, and high-level peer interaction – all in a convenient after-hours format.

As part of the event, Physiquipe will be on-site to showcase the latest advancements in MSK ultrasound technology, offering delegates the chance to explore and trial state-of-the-art systems in a practical clinical setting.

Who is this for?

This session is ideal for experienced clinicians (e.g., physiotherapists, sonographers, doctors, advanced practice clinicians) who:• Routinely perform MSK ultrasound in practice• Have prior experience with image-guided injections• Are seeking a high-value CPD session to refine technique and stay updated with innovations in the field

Workshop Format

Interactive breakout rooms will provide structured, skill-focused learning:

• Live scanning: Review anatomy and optimise scanning technique on live models

• Injection technique: Practise precision using high-fidelity MSK phantoms, including the Limbs & Things Knee Aspiration & Injection Trainer, featuring ultrasound-reflective structures and lifelike anatomical details

• Needle simulation: Enhance real-time needle control using the NeedleTrainer® by More Than Simulators – an advanced AR tool that projects virtual needle paths onto real ultrasound scans

• Technology showcase: Hands-on experience with the latest ultrasound systems, supported by the Physiquipe team

Course Faculty

Led by Dr Mike Burdon, Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine. Dr Burdon has extensive experience in elite sport (including England Rugby and the English Institute of Sport) and specialises in diagnostic and interventional MSK ultrasound. He is a regular educator in advanced clinical practice.

CPD Accreditation

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for CPD documentation.

Important note: This is not an introductory course. Delegates must already have experience with MSK ultrasound and guided injections.

Spaces are limited to ensure hands-on access and personalised teaching. Early booking is strongly recommended.
