The Southern Branch of the IOA invites you to join us for a presentation on about all things Planning and the recently released Approved Document O (ADO), on Overheating.

“The country is emerging from the effects of a global pandemic and faces a housing supply shortage. Recent changes to the General Permitted Development Order and the introduction of Approved Document O risks creating a housing supply of a lower acoustic standard than new-build residential developments. This presentation will look at these risks in broad terms by reviewing a case study and will highlight areas of potential conflict. This presentation is based on the one given at the Association of Noise Consultants Conference in November 2021.

Chris joined Adnitt Acoustics in 2012 and has been working as an acoustics consultant for over 17 years. Chris specialises in the acoustics of the built environment and has undertaken numerous assessments in support of applications under the General Permitted Development Order. He has also given evidence as an expert witness at public inquiries, planning hearings and in court proceedings. Chris is chair of the Institute’s Meetings Committee and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Constructors.”
