We are supporting CancerCare and encouraging participants to fundraise for the CancerCare Counts Campaign.
Mucker Junior is open to kids aged 6-14 in 2016. (We also have a wave for 4-5 year olds accompanied by a parent - see registration page for details) The event is hi-energy fun that includes 17+ obstacles to test and challenge all abilities through the age range. There is also mud - lots of it! Junior Muckers can run it to win it if that's their preference but most entrants join friends and siblings to help each other as a team and enjoy the day at their own pace. We design our courses to be challenging and fun, with every Mucker arriving on the finish line tired but very, very happy to collect their medal They'll have earned it!
More about CancerCare Counts Campaign
The year-long campaign will put a spotlight on CancerCare and the work we do in the community in helping local families affected by cancer with a focus on our Children & Young People’s service.
The main aims of the campaign are:
- To engage & consult with the local community in developing new services for teenagers affected by cancer. This might include improving the facilities at our centre, creating a new physical space/hub; the development of a mobile app; a support group (physical or virtual); creative groups/activity sessions; or an educational and outreach worker in local schools & other youth organisations.
- To raise additional funds to support the launch of the new service at the end of the year
- To raise awareness of all of CancerCare’s services in the local community
