Event Details

Join us on our wonderful, fun muddy challenge with your beloved mutt, to raise funds for the homeless animals at the rescue centre

We are really excited to be hosting the West Country's only sponsored muddy dog challenge!

If you and your dog fancy setting yourselves a muddy challenge, in aid of the homeless animals in our care, come and join us for our Muddy Mutts Sponsored Dog Walk in the beautiful setting of the River Dart Country Park.

The 3km course will involve mud, water, dog-friendly obstacles such as jumps, tunnels, weaves and temptation alley games, commando crawling and a water-dip.

If you and your dog prefer just to have a more relaxed walk in the beautiful South Devon countryside, there will also be a less challenging route with no obstacles.

All you need to do to enter is pledge a minimum sponsorship of £20. All proceeds from the event will go to help the animals at the rescue centre.

Spaces will be limited, so book your place now and we will send you full details and your sponsorship form. Tickets are per dog entering not per person i.e. 1 dog & 2 people = 1 ticket. 2 dogs & 2 people = 2 tickets.

Registration will open at 9.30am for a 10.30 start. A small entry fee to the park may apply.

Thank you for your support and we looking forward to meeting you on the 18th February 2018.

Animals in Distress

When pets in South Devon lose their home, we are here to pick up the pieces and give them the life they deserve.

Animals in Distress was born out of the local community’s desire to help pets who had lost their homes.

Created by three local ladies who had a passion to help animals in need, we have been lucky enough to have the support of the local community ever since. It’s only thanks to this support that we are able to help find perfect, forever homes for so many cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs every year.

Since the beginning we have been, and continue to be, passionate about the welfare of the animals in our charge and we are dedicated to treating them with dignity and kindness.

They are with us through no fault of their own and we are committed to keeping them healthy and secure until we find their new, forever homes.
