Event Details

When we fail to contract clearly enough we invariably store up problems for the future”  (Peter Bluckert 2006 Psychological dimensions of Executive Coaching)

Contracting between coach and client might be widely accepted as a key feature for working effectively but  experience shows that (a) it is all too easy to miss something that later turns out to be significant and (b) coaching always takes place within a context, sometimes a really complex environment, where the various stakeholders can have very different interests and expectations.  Whether we work as an internal or external coach (or mentor) a good understanding of multi-handed contracting and regular reflection on our own practice is key to working ‘at the top of our game’ . In this session we will explore

  • What do we see as the key features of effective contracting?
  • Who are the significant stakeholders and how can we best engage with them AND manage their expectations?
  • What frameworks might help us develop our contracting skills when there are multiple stakeholders and complex environments?
  • Specifically what 1or 2 things could you do to further develop your practice?

Note: A nominal charge of £5.00 will be collected on the door to cover room and refreshment costs.
