Muscle, Bone Heart and Soul - An Exploration of Vinyasa Yoga
Fri 23 June 2017, 19:00 – 21:00 BST
An exploration of Vinyasa Yoga
As close to the summer soltice as we could manage, this workshop will get the light switches of the subtle body lit up!
Saturated with the external and the material this workshop theme was derived to shed the layers we cocoon ourselves in and draw nearer to a sense of the strue self. Working from the outside in we will explore a deep and flowing sequence of postures that delve into release through movement. Come breathe, build heat, explore expansion, face resistance, confront your fear and connect.
By taking our asana a little slower we can delve in and play with this practice we call 'Yoga'. We will tap the 'edges' and begin to break down some of those negative cycles and behaviours. Turn the auto pilot off and feel into the practice!
This workshop will take place in the beautiful setting of All Saints Church in Hove. Built in 1892 this place feels like magic inside and is a venue which hosts many events and concerts. Please bring your own mat and let us know if you need any particular props and we'll bring them along for you.
And the icing on the cake?..... Live 'Hang' drum for the workshop provided by Robert Joslin. The handpan is derived from the steel drum but has a softer and uniquely melodious tone. The sound Robert produces is deeply resonant, and often has a meditative quality. Why not take a listen? https://soundcloud.com/robertjoslin/chanvara
This one is not for complete beginners but PLEASE get in touch with sarahwilliamsyoga if you have ANY questions.
