About this event

This course is delivered online over a four week period with a blend of self-directed learning and live webinars.

Our aim is to host a module that provides you with an educational platform regardless of whether you work in the NHS or the private sector, MSK or general care. The content is aimed at those practicing at band 6 (NHS) wanting to move into a band 7 (NHS) role or those in practice working regularly with MSK issues. It is based on the MSK Competency Framework and will capture a specialist podiatrists knowledge, skills and behaviors giving delegates opportunity to expand understanding of specialist MSK areas. The module is designed to promote and introduce advanced areas of specialist practice whilst updating core skills and enticing those interested into pursuing careers in advanced care. The specialist areas explored are Pediatric MSK, Rheumatology, Sports Injury and Podiatric Surgery.


This enhanced level module will refresh learning from pre-registration and build on the different specialisms within MSK whilst expanding existing knowledge and developing core skills. Completion of this module will enable delegates to develop areas of practice whilst also signposting them to more in-depth advanced level courses, further reading and suggestions for clinical placements. Speakers are from special interest groups within the Royal College and Faculty of Podiatric Medicine and will reflect on their clinical expertise and service provision. This module will be delivered by distance learning only with all activities being delivered virtually. Clinical examples will be used to relate the principles directly to practice with active practitioners delivering lectures and subjects. Built into the online learning will be live tutorial sessions to ask questions as well as activities to engage in discussions and reflect on learning. Completion of the module will be valued at 10 CPD credits and will provide an enhanced level of knowledge and understanding which can advance onto subject specific training.
