Welcome to our next Yorkshire Region EMDR event for EMDR practitioners who have completed basic training in EMDR.
Join Cassandra Manning at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park for an innovative presentation and workshop of Mus.EMDR, a new model which integrates received (pre-recorded) music into all eight phases of the EMDR Standard Protocol. In this session, Cassandra will give insight into how music can enhance the therapeutic alliance and become a co-therapist, strengthening resources and helping clients to access and have choice around the somatic dimension of the desensitisation and reprocessing phases of EMDR.
The session will include:
📍 Phase-by-phase integration of music into all 8 phases of the EMDR Standard Protocol.
📍 The use of Music as an Interweave in EMDR Phases 4-6
📍 Neuroscientific insights into how music can enhance adaptive information processing.
📍 Excerpts of live Mus.EMDR client sessions, and interviews.
📍 An introduction to music selection skills: including therapist intuition, the importance of
collaboration, and cultural awareness.
📍 Risk/challenge interface when working with music in EMDR.
If you are an experienced EMDR practitioner curious about how music can enhance the EMDR process, this presentation offers practical tools, clinical inspiration, and a fresh look at the unique phenomenon of music when integrated with EMDR.
This is an in-person full day event on Saturday 08 November 2025 at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, which won the Yorkshire Tourist Attraction in 2023 and has sculptures by famous artists, such as Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Damien Hirst, set in a beautiful landscaped garden that was laid out in the 18th Century.
