Event description

Description

Introduced by the Curator, this is a private view of what is expected to be a hugely popular exhibition. Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) is perhaps the most famous and influential of all Japanese artists. The exhibition will feature 180 paintings, brush drawings, prints and illustrated books by Hokusai, drawn from collections of the British Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and others in Japan, the USA and Europe. Hokusai’s most famous image The Great Wave begins the exhibition, surrounded by key works that led to its creation.
