Museums Are Bad For You? A Curatorial Leadership in Collections Event
Event Information
About this Event
Academics Dave O’Brien and Orian Brook introduce findings relevant to the Museum and Gallery sector from their new book Culture is Bad For You – a hard look at the inequalities in the workforce of the cultural and creative industries (Manchester University Press, 2020).
Hosted by the Curatorial Leadership in Collections Network, Museums Are Bad For You marks the first public event in the CLiC Connect and Activate Programme for 2020-21. The project aims to increase the relevance and resilience of collecting institutions in Scotland, developing and supporting curatorial leadership through shared learning opportunities, workshops, public events and the production of digital resources.
In 2020-21 the network is focused on exploring how contemporary art and artists can help unlock the potential of our museums and help them develop new stories and connect with diverse audiences in imaginative ways.
CLiC Connect and Activate 2020-21 is a project hosted by SCAN, the Scottish Contemporary Art Network, which exists to connect and champion Scotland's contemporary art community.
