MUSIC ACROSS BORDERS

Join Creative Europe Desk UK-Scotland, Scottish Music Industry Assocation and the Traditional Music Forum for an afternoon focused on collaboration, partnerships and networks in Europe and beyond.

SESSION 1: Cross-border projects, 14.30 - 15.30

Find out more about Creative Europe's funding and opportunities for the cultural, creative and heritage sectors and hear from two case studies of Cooperation Projects working in the music sector.

Kate Deans, Creative Europe Desk UK - Scotland, presents a short overview of the funding opportunities available as part of Creative Europe's Culture sub-programme,which supports organisations operating across the cultural and creative sectors to take part in long-term transnational collaboration.Kate will be joined by Andy Brydon from Curated Place in Manchester, which is a lead partner in Moving Classics, and National Youth Orchestra Scotland, who are part of MusXChange

SESSION 2: Partnerships and networks in Europe and beyond, 15.45 - 17.00

What are the benefits of being part of a European or international network? What kind of networks are out there already for music sector organisations? How do partnerships form, and what are the ways of making them work for all involved? Session two will feature a series of short presentations from a variety of music organisations and networks, followed by a discussion and Q&A.

Hear from Ian Smith from the European Music Council about the network's objectives and activities in Europe, and listen to speakers including David Francis, European Folk Music Network, and Carol Main, Live Music Now Scotland about what it's like to be a member of a European network. Alan Morrison, Head of Music at Creative Scotland, will also talk about other opportunities for networking and developing international contacts in Europe and beyond.

SESSION 3: Networking drinks, 17.00 - 18.00

Attendees are warmly invited to continue the conversation with other Scottish organisations and professionals interested in international collaboration over a drink.
