Join host Siân Docksey and headliner Oliver Asadi as we celebrate the music and comedy of young creatives at our open mic night.

About this Event

Present your musical and comedy talents to the ZOOM world. Featuring musical headliner Oliver Asadi and hosted by comedian Sian Docksey, you can watch these established artists perform and- if inspired- share your own original songs and stand-up in an entirely supportive atmosphere. Register as an audience member or as a performer - either way an evening of entertainment is guaranteed!

BBC New Comedy Award nominee 2019 Siân Docksey is confidently the UK’s number one Welsh-Armenian queer comedian from Belgium, and ready to fight* anyone for the title (*sternly email.) As heard on BBC Radio 4 and featured in The Telegraph’s Funniest One-Liners of the Edinburgh Fringe 2017, ★★★★ “Joy and bewilderment in equal measure”- The Skinny

The mysterious Oliver Asadi from Leeds has built a following based on his intriguing persona. Asadi is someone you’d find difficult to put into a box. He’s a rapper, producer, singer, musician, filmmaker and photographer. Simply put – he’s an artist. His musical style might best be described as wavey and progressive hip-hop, but even those terms seem too specific for him. Asadi hasn’t just built a dedicated fan-base but has also attracted the attention of big names from the States, including SpaceGhostPurrp, A$AP Mob and most recently Kevin Abstract (Brockhampton), who appears on latest single ‘Shatter Me’.'

This event is organised by Wakefield LitFest, which is a literature festival for 14 - 25 year olds and is supported by Arts Council England and IVE.
