About this event

  • 3 hours

The Summer Gala concert will be our usual relaxing evening with an hour-long interval for a picnic. We are delighted to say that the pianist William Bracken has found time to visit us amid his hectic schedule. William comes from Wirral and his career as a solo pianist has been meteoric since he won 1st prize at the 2022 Liszt Society International Piano Competition.

The wonderful programme is as follows:

Beethoven: sonata op. 31 no. 2 'The Tempest'

Bagatelle op. 126 no. 1

Brahms: Vier klavierstykke op. 119

Robert Schumann: Arabeske op. 18

Clara Schumann: nocturne op 6 no 2

Debussy: la Puerto del vino

Mompou: from impressiones intimas: 'la barca' and 'secreto'

Liszt: Rhapsodie Espagnol

You are invited to bring a picnic to eat during the longer interval of this concert. This may be eaten in or out of doors depending on the weather. You are welcome to bring your own tables and chairs or picnic blankets although we can provide a limited number.

Doors will open at 5 pm, one hour prior to the start of the concert.

(please note concert programmes may be subject to change)
