Music Bites: Percussion in Group Settings
Wed 5 April 2017, 16:30 – 18:30 BST
Are you interested in using percussion in group settings? Would you like to know more about this rewarding area of music practice?
Percussion is anything that we strike, scrape or shake to create sound. Percussion instruments can be tuned or untuned, large or small, conventional or homemade. Group percussion activities are not only musically enjoyable, they also have positive social and psychological benefits.
This Music Bites session is aimed at both experienced practitioners looking to diversify their own practice and emerging practitioners wishing to take their first steps. You do not need to be a musician to take part in this opportunity.
Led by Jim Montague, this practical 2 hour training session will focus on inclusive group practice and approaches to community music-making with percussion and will help you develop a musical toolkit and repertoire.
