This event will bring together and share learning from the 2-year Music Champions project, aiming to support teachers, teaching assistants, early years practitioners, and artists to explore early years music across a range of settings.
This full day event will share an insight into the project – both the practice and the impact. There will keynotes and case studies, as well as practical workshops providing lots of ideas and inspiration!
Speakers will include:
- Nicola Burke, Early Year Music Specialist
- Dr Helen Lyndon, Centre for Early Childhood Research (CREC)
- Rhona Matheson, Starcatchers - Scotland’s Arts and Early Years Organisation.
Practical workshops and case studies will be delivered by some of the 20 musicians and early years practitioners who have been part of this exciting project exploring early years music in children’s centres, nurseries and schools in Leicester/shire.
It will also be an opportunity for participants to network ,connect, share ideas, and celebrate the power of music!
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The full price of this event is £30.
Pay what you can
We would encourage schools and larger settings/organisations to pay the full price to support the costs of the event. However, we are also offering places for this event on a pay-what- you can basis , no questions asked, to make it more accesible to smaller settings and freelancers.
