Event description
We are delighted to invite you to a series of events this spring to support music curriculum in schools.

About this event

The focus of the primary music network is to develop teaching and learning in and through music across the primary curriculum and the wider life of a thriving and creative school.

With Ofsted announcing a shift of emphasis towards breadth and quality of curriculum in their current education inspection framework, this series of network events run as workshops provides a fantastic opportunity for you to re-examine the music curriculum in your class and school. The workshops will provide a framework for primary teachers and music coordinators to explore and develop the musical offer in their school. In line with the revised Ofsted framework, the network considers the design/intent of the curriculum and ways in which this can be further developed and implemented in order to show musical progress and impact through embracing meaningful assessment as part of a rich and broad education across the primary years.

The sessions will also introduce a range of useful free materials including the award-winning ‘ISM Primary Music Toolkit’ by Dr Ally Daubney and the ‘Framework for Curriculum, Progression and Assessment’ in the National Curriculum’, co-written by Dr Ally Daubney and Professor Martin Fautley.
