About Kingsland Church:
This large 14th century church is unusually ornamented with triangular shapes to many of the windows, which suggest a link to the fine architectures of this date in Bristol Churches. The entrance porch has on its east side the delightful, tiny Volka Chapel, which is linked to commemoration of the Battle of Mortimer's Cross in 1461, during the Wars of the Roses. The chancel roof has fine painting of 1868 by Bodley and Garner, but there is medieval stained glass in two chancel windows. That in the east window has a Coronation of The Virgin with angels, archangels and Mortimer heraldry.
