MIM 114: 6th October - Black History Month Special
This October, Music Industry Mondays celebrates Black History Month with a special panel spotlighting Black excellence in music and media. Join us for an evening of insight, inspiration, and conversation with three incredible voices shaping the UK music scene:
- Joey Clipstar – CEO of Hardest Bars, founder of HB Freestyles on Link Up TV, and a driving force in championing UK rap and emerging talent.
- Amelia Poamz – Radio presenter and cultural curator with over five years of experience at BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, and BBC Radio London. Amelia is passionate about platforming new artists, having hosted 200+ shows, interviewed 400+ guests, and created initiatives like The Under 5K Club and In-Facts.
- Cherryl Ignacio – Independent artist manager and Operations Manager at 3000 Years Music, with a track record of securing publishing and record deals for emerging talent. Her artists have graced stages at Glastonbury, The Great Escape, and Secret Garden Party, proving her expertise in breaking acts onto the big stage.
This Black History Month Special will dive into the panelists’ journeys, the challenges and triumphs of navigating the music industry, and the importance of celebrating and amplifying Black voices in music and culture.
