Music Nairn - CarmenCo

CarmenCo is more than a concert—it lives at the crossroads of theatre and music. This unique production weaves Spanish and Spanish-inspired music into a play, complete with costumes, props, and a storyline that loosely follows Bizet’s Carmen—but told from Carmen’s own perspective. Dare you consult the cards with her? What does she really think of the men in her life? Did she foresee her tragic fate? And what does she make of Bizet’s famous opera about her?

The result is a captivating evening of fantasy, comedy, drama, and dazzling music, with arrangements from Carmen alongside works by Boccherini, de Falla, García Lorca, Granados, Ravel, and Albéniz—specially arranged by the ensemble for guitars and flute/voice.
