Event description

Description

Another three great live acts (Elliott Morris, Charlotte Campbell and Little Water) are lining up to perform at the farm for our last music night of the year; it's going to be festive and fun.

Here's a bit more about this month's performers:

We have Elliott Morris; With hundreds of gigs behind him – and a coveted Danny Kyle Award from Celtic Connections 2013 – Elliott Morris has a formidable reputation as one of the hardest-working and most sought-after young artists on the acoustic scene. The singer-songwriter, featured in Acoustic magazine as ‘The Next Big Thing’, taps the strings and beats the guitar’s body to create an intricate spectacle, together with an original and unique sound integral to his songs. Half English, half Scottish and raised in Wales and Lincolnshire, Elliott is continuing this journey by means of his almost constant touring schedule. He plays across the British Isles, from Orkney to Plymouth, Boston to Llangrannog, Belfast to Clonakilty. Elliott’s original compositions marry intricate guitar lines with heartfelt, honest vocals and clever wordplay, combining elements of folk, roots, jazz and country, all the time embracing the traditional and the contemporary. Plus Charlotte Campbell: After writing music for 10 years, Charlotte Campbell's career really began when she found herself on London's Southbank, guitar in hand and a case full of change. She found a stage there and an audience. She has captured the hearts of tourists and Londoners with her sweet vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Through glorious summers and bitterly cold winters Charlotte sings her favourite cover songs as well as performing her own original music. "She takes to the microphone, chirrups a smily greeting to passers-by and launches into a series of soulful, husky-voiced reworkings of chart hits. It’s a lovely experience: all smiles and chirpy ditties" - Time Out London. Having been featured in Time Out London, The Metro and The Londonist, Charlotte is making a name for herself in her hometown. Listen...

And last but by no means least we have Little Water; A brand new London based alternative pop duo consisting of Connor Roff and Becky CJ. Combining a blend of genres - americana, country, folk and pop - their unique voices combine to deliver carefully crafted songs. Both are singer-songwriters in their own right and the collaboration was formed while singing together in London Contemporary Voices alternative choir. It’s impossible to not get caught up in their chemistry on stage while watching them perform live. Both members of the LGBT community, Connor and Becky are excited to bring a different male-female dynamic to the music community.

Doors will open at 6:30pm; and, as always, food and a bar available on the night.

All profits will go towards Vauxhall City Farm's support work with children and young people (additional donations welcome).
