The Camenae were Roman water nymphs or deities of music, poetry and healing. Their name relates to the Latin word ‘carmen’, which means ‘charm, song, poem, magical formula or prayer’. The ensemble was founded in 2020 by Kristina Bitina, contralto from Latvia, and Nichola Bojczuk, poet and compère. Kristina came to Scotland in 2005 and moved to Wales in 2010. She has performed widly in Latvia, around Europe, Scotland, England and Wales. Camenae de Cymru has delivered over 30 concerts with professional musicians playing classical music of different epochs and genres.

Anna Daniel-soprano.Anna graduated from Cardiff University and The Open University and has studied singing under Alison Burnett, Kelvin Thomas, Kate Woolveridge and Kristina Bitina. She has sung in a variety of venues in Devon and Cardiff. Including opera performances with Opera Mint Wales.

Clarke Alonzi -Classically trained modern and baroque violinist living in Cowbridge, Wales. Plays all music from Mozart, Vivaldi to Hendrix and Elton John.

Giordano Ferla is an accomplished pianist specialising in classical and modern music. He was born in Italy and received his education from the Alfredo Casella Conservatory in L’Aquila as well as the Royal College of Music in London. He now resides in Wales, where he is a professor of piano at the Royal Welsh College of Music Junior Conservatoire. Additionally, he serves as the director of the Serenata Singers Choir in Cardiff.
