About this event
Join master craftsman Alan Johnson in his workshop to get hands-on and creative making musical instruments!
Choose from a range of options from a simple shaker up to a shoe box guitar.Learn skills such as cutting, joining and painting to make your instrument; use a variety of methods and materials including glue, tape, card, wood, beads and rubber bands - get messy and have fun creating!
This is a chance for kids to get creative and to experience the workings of a real-life functioning workshop. Watch and learn how Alan uses the various tools and machines in his workshop to drill holes, and cut and join materials in a variety of ways.
All materials and equipment are provided.
This event is open to children aged 5-10. Alan will be on hand to instruct, help and supervise, parental/guardian supervision is also required at all times. Supervising adults are ultimately responsible for the safety of the child.
This event forms part of Kingsgate Workshops Summer Open Studios and will be held in Studio 6/8. Please ask stewards for directions.
