About this event
Epping Forest, London | 22km (14 miles) | Approx. 7–8 hoursGrade: Moderate
This Autumn, we’re heading back to London for the third edition of our partnership hike with Epping Forest Heritage Trust, and for the first time, we’ll be walking this route in the beauty of Autumn. 🍂
This circular route covers the northern section of ancient Epping Forest, starting and finishing at the historic Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge. Along the way, you’ll encounter tranquil ponds, ancient oak trees over 500 years old, two Iron Age forts, and precious, protected habitats.
We’ll pause at points for expert talks on the Forest’s rich heritage and ecology, before stopping at Debden Campsite for lunch, where facilities include toilets, running water, indoor/outdoor seating, and hot/cold drinks.
This is a moderately challenging route of 22km (14 miles) with over 500m elevation gain, a perfect Autumn day out to enjoy crisp air, colourful leaves, and community connection.
All are welcome, regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or joining us for the first time, this is your invitation to explore Epping Forest with us.
