Peak District National Park | 10 miles | Approx. 5.5 hours
Grade: Easy
Join Muslim Hikers for our first ever hike along the Monsal Trail, one of the Peak District’s most accessible and scenic routes.
Starting at Millers Dale, this walk follows the former Midland Railway line, now transformed into a traffic-free trail that runs through the heart of the White Peak. Our route takes us as far as Monsal Head, before turning back to Millers Dale. Along the way, we’ll pass through dramatic limestone cuttings, across the famous Monsal Viaduct, and through several impressive railway tunnels, each offering a glimpse into the area’s industrial heritage.
The Monsal Trail is known for its wide, flat paths and spectacular views over the dales. With some additional elevation built into our route (~450m total), this hike offers the perfect balance of history, variety and stunning Peak District scenery.
