Join us for a unique summer hike across the beautiful North Downs Way National Trail, walking from Wye to Canterbury through orchards, ancient woodland and Kentish countryside.

This event is part of Putting Down Routes – a collaborative project by the North Downs Way National Trail and Kent Downs National Landscape, aiming to welcome new and underrepresented communities to the trail and improve access for all.

Thanks to this partnership, we’re offering this event at just £5 per person (usual price £25).

ABOUT THE ROUTE

We’ll walk two linked sections of the North Downs Way:

Wye to Chilham (7 miles)

Peaceful, shaded woodland paths perfect for a summer day. You’ll pass woodland sculptures and reach a scenic point with your first glimpse of Canterbury Cathedral — a great spot to pause and rest.

Chilham to Canterbury (7 miles)

Enjoy open farmland, orchards, Blean Woods (home to bison), and No Man’s Orchard. The route also passes an Iron Age hillfort believed to have been attacked by Julius Caesar in 54BC. You’ll finish through Canterbury’s historic Westgate Towers, arriving at the iconic Cathedral.
