On the only no pratice or race night of the otherwise bike packed NW200 2024 week, Flowerfield is delighted to bring an incredible country duet with a twist - My Darling Clementine. Wry heart-on-sleeve songcraft, put this edgy duo at the top of the country game. Kick back, bring a good bottle of wine and enjoy a night of live country harmony.

"King and Dalgleish have re-invented the country duet" - The mingling of these two voices is just heavenly” Mojo

My Draling Clementine began as a homage to classic country duets of the 60’s and 70’s - think George & Tammy and Johnny & June.

The 2011 debut “How Do You Plead?” was called “The greatest British country record ever made” by Country Music People.

The latest album, “Country Darkness” is a collaboration with keyboard genius Steve Nieve (The Attractions / The Imposters) that reinterprets the country songs of Elvis Costello. Released in November 2020, it charted in both the UK and European Americana charts to unanimous praise.

“Where gospel, country and Southern soul happily collide. It’s terrific" (UnCut).

“.. this is more Delaney & Bonnie than George & Tammy” (Record Collector).

For over 11 years MDC have played over 900 shows around the world, won numerous awards and have more than earned their own bona fides, with wry, heart-on-sleeve songcraft spotlighting the vagaries of romance, the human condition and their match-made-in-heaven harmonies

"MDC mix country gloom with excellent musicianship and very fine songs.” The Guardian

"One of the most exquisitely pained country albums of the year comes from EnglandNew York Daily News

Their current live show features a number of the Costello songs, as well as many favourites from the 10 year back catalogue, Michael's recent solo album 'The Struggle', and brand new material from the forthcoming new My Darling Clementine album.
