The Lutheran, Moravian and Methodist Churches are pleased to invite you to join us for a day of music, workshops, academic discussion and worship, on 20th May 2017 at the Moravian Church and School at Fulneck, Pudsey, West Yorkshire.
The theme of the day is “My Heart Strangely Warmed”, with a special focus on music, particularly hymnody. Congregational singing has been an important part of most churches as a vehicle to develop spirituality, convey theology, and of course as a deep and moving form of communal worship. Hymns seep into everyday life, providing catchphrases, film soundtracks (such as “Jerusalem”), and marking special occasions of all sorts. People of all or no faith are invited to join us to explore these and other developments and influences.
A full programme of speakers and worshops will be provided in spring 2017 when you will be able to express your preference regarding which workshops and papers you wish to attend. Fulneck is within easy reach of Leeds International Airport, and New Pudsey rail station (between Leeds and Bradford). Minibuses may be arranged if required from the station at the beginning and end of the day.
