LGBT HERO is excited to welcome you to our very first My LGBTQ+ Wandsworth meet-up, taking place at the historic Battersea Library on 21 October at 18:00.
We want to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ people who live, work, and socialise in Wandsworth to get together and connect with other people like them in the borough. As part of the meet-ups, we will work together on an exciting new project to celebrate LGBTQ+ life in Wandsworth, which we will develop together.
This project aims to celebrate and support the local LGBTQ+ community by creating opportunities to meet, share experiences, and strengthen networks across Wandsworth.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, get involved in shaping the project, or simply learn more about what’s happening in your community, this event is for you.
About My LGBTQ+ Wandsworth
My LGBTQ+ Wandsworth is a community project for LGBTQ+ people who live, work, or socialise in Wandsworth, brought to you by LGBT HERO. We will be running peer-support groups and creative workshops to give you a chance to connect, share experiences, and be part of something meaningful in a fun, inclusive space.
Why? Wandsworth was named as the Borough of Culture for 2025, and we want to celebrate the rich history, legacy and current queer culture the borough has to offer. The project will lead up to a public exhibition to be opened during Pride Month, celebrating LGBTQ+ life in Wandsworth and showcasing the stories, voices, and creative work developed through the workshops.
We’ll also be offering training sessions on LGBTQ+ health and allyship - open to both participants and local venues - to help make Wandsworth an even more inclusive place for everyone.
Whether you live, work or socialise in Wandsworth, or feel at home in its queer spaces, this project is all about coming together, sharing stories, building connections, and creating something meaningful as a community.
