Chief Inspector Matthew Sulley, from Thames Valley Police, chairs the Local Resilience Group, a multi-agency partnership made up of representatives from local public services, including the emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others. He will outline the work this group undertakes to ensure Milton Keynes is prepared in the event of an emergency.

Counter Terrorism Policing officer, Nick Cook will outline the wealth of advice, guidance and learning your business can access for free to ensure you and your staff understand protective security and improve your response to the risk of terrorism and ready for when Martyn's Law is enacted.

We’ll also have Professor of clinical traumatology and co-founder of charity CitizenAid, Sir Keith Porter, talking about why structured decision-making is crucial in the first moments of an incident and explaining how businesses can access low or no cost advice, training and equipment which can help save lives. For Sir Keith, ‘Run, Hide, Tell’ is no longer enough, the message must be extended to ‘Run, Hide, Tell and when it’s safe to Treat’.

Attendees will gain insight into Project Servator, a proactive policing tactic designed to disrupt criminal activity, including terrorism. The session will highlight how businesses, partners, and the public can work together to report suspicious activity and enhance safety. Additionally, representatives from other organisations, including the City Council and centre:mk will share their strategies for emergency preparedness.
