Join MY PG Study Week activities to find out about the opportunities available for further study and how it can enhance your employment prospects.
This session offers an opportunity for those considering studies in Polyomics to learn a bit more about the degree and take a tour of the facilities.
You should attend this event if you have an interest in bioinformatics, data analysis or omics technologies, or have experience in computing science, chemistry and/or molecular biology and wish to find out more about your career options in big data or state-of-the-art biological research.
Glasgow Polyomics - Thursday 18th February
Glasgow Polyomics is an omics research facility that specialises in generating large-scale datasets using state-of-the-art technologies, and their analysis. We cover proteomics, next-generation sequencing, metabolomics and we also have a large team of informaticians for data analysis.
14:00 - Introduction to Polyomics, Director Prof. Mike Barrett
14:10 - Head of Metabolomics, Dr. Karl Burgess
14:20 - Head of Sequencing, Dr. Pawel Herzyk
14:30 - Head of Proteomics, Dr. Richard Burchmore
14:40 - Head of Data Analysis, Dr. Ronan Daly
14:50-16:00 – Facility Tours and chance for informal discussions with Polyomics Staff (technicians, technologists, bioinformaticians, web developer, management team and facility heads).
Transport will be provided from the Main Campus to Garscube. If you require transport please arrive at the SRC Welcome Point, John McIntyre Building for 13:20. The bus will leave at 13:30 sharp.
