My Town Choir
Chesham have been singing their hearts out for the past five years entertaining local audiences (and themselves!) with a huge range of music from gospel and pop to musical theatre and classical. Their concerts have included performances with Opera, Classical Music and Broadway and West End Stars.They love raising money for charity and the profit from this concert will be donated to Macmillan Nurses.
The group is full of local people who make a beautiful sound and love the sense of community and fun that singing together brings. They meet at St Mary's Church Hall on Friday evenings and are always keen to welcome new members.Led by musical director Jo Edworthy, an opera singer with credits to her name including roles with Welsh National Opera and Glyndebourne. She is also an experienced choral animateur and teacher who will get everyone singing!
This will be an uplifting concert that will make you smile and you will end up singing along with the choir and raising the roof towards the end of the concert!!
The concert will include pieces by Simon & Garfunkel, Queen, John Rutter and Morecambe and Wise. You don't usually get all those people in one programme so book your tickets now!
Our Chesham Fringe concert will be raising funds for MacMillan Nurses in memory of our former member Terry Cherrill who we sadly lost this year.

Chesham Fringe Festival 2024 : a three-day Entertainment Extravaganza
Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of arts, culture and entertainment at the inaugural Chesham Fringe Festival, taking place across the late May Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 25th to Monday 27th May 2024.
Modelled on the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Chesham Fringe Festival promises to bring a vibrant array of local, national and international talent and creativity to this Buckinghamshire town at the end of the Metropolitan Line, providing entertainment for all and an important boost to local businesses.
Chesham Fringe Festival will run across three days, seeing the innovative town of Chesham come alive with the sound of laughter, music and the magic of the performing arts and the opportunity to experience acts preparing to perform in Edinburgh. With a diverse lineup including comedy, music, theatre, cabaret, spoken word, book and poetry readings and more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The festival will feature a variety of acts performing across multiple venues strategically scattered within a one-mile radius from the centre of Chesham, creating a vibrant cultural hub spanning from Chesham United Football Club to the renowned Elgiva Theatre.
To make the Chesham Fringe Festival experience even more enjoyable, a dedicated team of volunteers, affectionately known as "Fringe Makers," will be on hand to guide and support visitors throughout the event.
