About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Learn about the magic of fungi and its incredible potential as a sustainable material. Then, grow your very own sculpture out of mycelium to exhibit at A Curious Town Grows festival (and then take it home afterwards)!

Please bring some interesting household items that can be used to make a mould. Think yoghurt pots, plastic bowls, plastic, ceramic ideally, but we will try and make work anything you think will be interesting to use to create a shape.

Saskia is a local artist who has been experimenting with bio materials, including mushrooms, seaweed, oyster shells and anything she can find locally. She's recently been teaming up with the wonderful Robbie from Basils Fungi Farm to clone local fungal species and grow mycelium sculptures.
