"Explore the journey behind the #MyGPguide and its role in facilitating help-seeking in young people".

This online webinar is for professionals in Cheshire East

The #MyGPguide is an evidence-informed resource co-designed with young people for young people with lived experience of self-harm and/or suicidal behaviour to prepare them for their consultation with their General Practitioner (GP) offering vital information and advice on:

· What to consider before they visit their doctor, including preparing questions and booking an appointment

· How to manage the consultation:

o What their rights are with respect to confidentiality

o What questions their doctor might ask them

o How to manage discussions about medication

o Safety planning

o Referral to mental health services

· What to do after the consultation and how their doctor can support them including signposting and accessing professional support

* GP support for children and young people will be based on each individual and their personal circumstances
