Event description

Description

The first visit was so popular we have organised another one, this is a rare opportunity to see how paint is made commercially!

Christopher Tanner, Mylands’ Managing Director, who has many years experience within the paint industry, will be giving a talk on the history of Mylands and paint manufacture, followed by a tour of the factory to experience the paint making process first hand.

Established in 1884 by ‘Honest’ John Myland, Mylands is Britain’s oldest family-owned and run paint and polishes manufacturer.

Unlike some other paintmakers of the day, John was absolutely in thrall to the art of the colourman, insisting on only the very best materials that would allow him to create colours that were lustrous and flawless, with guaranteed quality. Over four generations, they have quietly but proudly crafted quality paints and wood finishes in Lambeth, South London.

130 years later, Mylands is still operating out of Lamberth, preserving the traditional approach to making the finest quality paints and finishes, while making the most of the latest technical advances in paint development.

The Traditional Paint Forum provides a discussion and information platform but does not promote or endorse any individual company, product or process.
