Our new Tourism Product – MythFest Wales

We are developing our MythFest events to encourage families to holiday in NE Wales. Our four EPIC locations for this new magical family experience are; Talacre on the 10th June, Llandegla on the 17th June, Clocaenog on the 16th September and Northop on the 30th September.

These immersive storytelling and crafting events will introduce families to some of the colourful characters and creatures from North East Wales mythological past. It will also showcase our outstanding landscape and link to Wales’ Year of the Sea by focusing on the essential and magical properties of our watery habitats – of which we have loads!

We will be providing members with lots of resources to help make up itinerary suggestions that will benefit your businesses. You can use them through social media to help attract visitors to the area, hopefully making us SME’s loads of money and inspiring more innovative ideas.

We will be launching MythFest on the 16th March at our Spring meeting. You will find out all about it and take part in practical workshops that will arm you with the resources and ideas to package your business with, not only our MythFest events, but also other events, activities and attractions in and around NE Wales.

The new Assembly Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Lord Elis-Thomas AM, Tourism and Sport will be in attendance and will speak to the businesses.

We are hoping to have a great turn out from the activity and attraction providers – giving you a great opportunity to negotiate some super deals for your guests in 2018.

Book your place now. Remember if you’re not a member there’s a £15 charge per person on the day (including lunch), if you join the Clwydian Range Tourism Group it's free (£50 annual membership).

“We took a great family recipe. We picked the local myths and folklore mixed them in a pot, added a sprinkling of modern-day foibles and a pinch of irony, and out came a memorable and original battle of good versus evil, dark versus light, boy meets girl and a bit of ‘he’s behind you’!” said event organizer Vanessa, member of the Clwydian Range Tourism Group.

“Myths and legends flow like water through our culture. They are continually evolving; they feed our beliefs, fuel our traditions and inspire film and TV globally.”
