Naked Boys Reading: Brunch with Virginia Woolf
Sun 9 April 2017, 13:00 – 17:00 BST
Naked Boys Reading brings you a unique rooftop brunch dedicated to Virginia Woolf.
"Nothing thicker than a knife’s blade," Woolf offers in her beautiful Orlando, "separates happiness from melancholy." Our boys will err on the often under-represented side of happiness in Woolf’s oeuvre. From her gorgeous letters, through her dense novels and essays, to her intoxicatingly funny drama, we consume Mrs. Woolf’s modernist writing in the best way possible: with naked boys and brunch!
Our brunch - served in the splendour of Ace Hotel London's 100 Room - includes a three-course meal prepared by Ace Hotel London Executive Chef Simon Gregory to the Bloomsbury Groups’s specifications as laid out in the “The Bloomsbury Cookbook.” This text details how the dining table brought Woolf and her contemporaries together to connect with their art, their lives and the politics of the time. We promise a delicious spread (and that’s just your hostess!). The Duchess of Pork will spin the best brunch tunes in town between readings.
