Description
We all use public highways practically every day of the year without thinking of their legal status. The aim of this course is to look at
- The legal status of highways
- The different types of highway
- Who owns a highway and the very limited rights of an owner
- How to alter the route of a highway
- How to regulate use of a highway
- How to close a highway
The course will deal with the types of public highway often referred to as footpaths, bridleways and BOATs.
The course is open to Councillors and Clerks of both urban and rural Councils.
