Namibia since Independence
Event Information
About this Event
Namibia’s High Commissioner to the UK and former Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, HE Linda Scott, gives a broad overview of Namibia’s challenges and achievements since independence in 1990.
Namibia has enjoyed stability since gaining independence after a long struggle against rule from Germany and South Africa and a challenging inter-racial reconciliation process.
It is now a popular destination for wildlife tourism and the first African country to incorporate protection of the environment into its constitution.
