Event Details

Writer and activist Naomi Klein will talk to Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner about her new book, On Fire.

For two decades Klein has been one of the most prominent voices on the left. In each of her books - from No Logo, to No is Not Enough - she has taken on our biggest challenges, from globalisation and disaster capitalism to the rise to power of Donald Trump.

Now, as the climate crisis intensifies, Klein pulls together a decade of writing to make the urgent case for a Green New Deal. With dispatches from the ghostly Great Barrier Reef, the smoke-choked skies of the Pacific Northwest and post-hurricane Puerto Rico, she explains that we will rise to this existential challenge only if we are willing to transform the systems that produced this crisis.

Join her and Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner for a discussion of our climate emergency - "the fight of our lives" - and the energised and rising political movement which is demanding change now.

Tickets to this event cost £30 and include a copy of On Fire (RRP £17.99).

Running time: 90 minutes, no interval.
